Rio Salado College’s Soups for Beginners Cooking Workshop

Join us for our Soups for Beginners workshop. Work with a professional chef to create three different soups including a classic, New England clam chowder; a popular plant based Carrot, Ginger & Coconut soup; and a Southwestern favorite, Chicken Tortilla soup. Students will learn how to create soups from beginning to end with topics including stock-making techniques, thickeners and soup garnishes. Once the soups are made, students will take time to relax and eat their tasty creations.
Rio Salado culinary workshops are designed for the beginner and are fun and low pressure. Workshops are hands on and participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop. Workshops are generally made up of 12 students and we work in teams. We want the group to work safe, learn new techniques and recipes to their culinary repertoire and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Proper kitchen attire is required which includes: closed toe shoes, long pant and long or short sleeve shirt. Please restrain hair while in the kitchen.
