Rio Salado College Soap Making for Beginners II
April 30 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm MST
Explore the world of sustainability through soap making! This workshop focuses primarily on soap safety and design. Learn to create beautiful hand made cold processed soaps at home through different pouring techniques and coloring options.
While still a beginner’s workshop, this will build on the Soap Making for Beginners I workshop which is offered in February. Soap Making for Beginners I is a recommended prerequisite before taking Soap Making for Beginners II; although it is not a requirement.
Rio Salado workshops are designed for the beginner and are fun and low pressure. Workshops are hands on and participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop. Soap making workshops are made up of a maximum of 12 students. We want the group to work safe and learn new techniques and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Proper attire is required which includes: REQUIRED closed toe shoes, REQUIRED long pants and REQUIRED long sleeve shirt ** Please restrain hair while in the kitchen.
**If the required clothing is missing (ie: long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed toed shoes) you will not be able to participate in the actual soap making part of the class and will not be issued a refund. This is to ensure each of our participants’ safety as we are working with caustic lye. Thank you.
