Welcome to the wonderful world of Soap making 101! Are you trying to live a more natural life? We are offering a hands on basic soap making class for you and your friends to learn the artistic and creative craft of Soaping. In this workshop you will learn safety and essential insider tricks to making soap for yourself.
You will be learning about natural colorants, soap additives, basic soap recipes and how to choose the right oils and rich butters for your skin type. During this class you will make your own Orange and Lavender soaps in a mold that you will get to keep as well as receive a written resource packet with recipes to take home with you.
Rio Salado workshops are designed for the beginner and are fun and low pressure. Workshops are hands on and participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop. Workshops are generally made up of 16 students and we work in teams of 4. We want the group to work safe and learn new techniques and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Proper attire is required which includes: REQUIRED closed toe shoes, REQUIRED long pants and REQUIRED long sleeve shirt ** Please restrain hair while in the kitchen.
**If the required clothing is missing (ie: long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed toed shoes) you will not be able to participate in the actual soap making part of the class and will not be issued a refund. This is to ensure each of our participants’ safety as we are working with caustic lye. Thank you.
