This class is a beginner level class. In this class, you will learn an easy and delicious 30 minute mozzarella recipe. You will also learn what milk type works best for this recipe and why. We will be introducing the enzyme rennet, which is used in cheese making to aid in the protein separation of the milk.
Each group of students (about 4-5 per group) will start with milk and finesse it over the course of the class to produce a delicious fresh warm mozzarella. We will have some hands-on fun as we stretch & taste the curds. We will also learn what a Burrata is and try making it ourselves.
During your experience in this class, you will learn simple techniques in cheese making that you will always use. We will also be discussing the best wine & beer pairings that go with these cheeses. This class & type of cheeses are a great place to start if you’re new to cheese making. Not only is this class fun, you will walk away with the desire to learn more about making home-made cheeses. You will leave the class with your own copies of the recipes of the cheese we made and the knowledge to make your own cheese at home. Food and drinks are available for purchase at this venue. This event is held up stairs on the second floor of the venue with no elevator access.
