Emails and Phone Calls and Protests, Oh My!
May 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm MST
Learn about how your leaders interpret what you’re telling them and what the most efficient way to communicate your concerns are.
Spokes on Southern and Local First Arizona have paired together to bring you a panel of your very own leaders to let you know the in’s and out’s of advocating for yourself. Many of us have sent emails, made phone calls, posted on Facebook, protested and met with our leaders in person but how do our concerns come across and what is the most efficient way to communicate them? We are going to start the night with Dr. Braden Kay, Director of Sustainability for the City of Tempe giving a quick catch up on what the city is up to and how you can get involved. Then we have Councilperson Lauren Kuby, Council Aide Kristin Gwinn, Councilperson Jen Duff, City Council Assistant Jessica Potter and our moderator, former House Representative Ken Clark who will be explaining how they receive, address and respond to concerns as well as providing insight as to with which methods of communication most impact their decision making and why. Come on out and ask questions, take notes and become a better advocate for you and your cause!
