Discover the basics of adding animals to your backyard garden to create an urban farm that is increasingly abundant over time, saving you time and money, yielding healthy food, and benefiting the environment.

Participants will learn:

  • What a garden needs to be productive,
  • How to put animals, insects and microbes to work to improve production,
  • Examples of how animals and gardens can work together,
  • Resources to get started

Kari Spencer is a Maricopa County Master Gardener and an urban farming author. Growing food, homesteading, permaculture and backyard livestock are her way of life, and teaching is her passion.  She is the proprietor of The Micro Farm Project and the author of City Farming: How-to Guide to Growing Food and Raising Livestock in Urban Spaces.
