Chef Carlton Brooks shared points of interest from the ACF Conference in Newport Beach. –
Congratulations to Chef Bill Sy, Hermann G. Rusch Western Region recipient. He will also be going to National Convention in July. Congratulations to Student Chef of the Year, Brittany Goldberg placed second earning a Bronze Medal. Art Institute Knowledge Bowl Team did not place. Pastry Chef of the Year did not place. Thank you to all for participating, hope you enjoyed the experience.

Student update: AI Jr. Chapter will begin in April per AI Director Noel Ridsdale. At the C-CAP Breakfast, Chef Juan Martinez, ACFAZ Chapter President presented two $750.00 scholarship awards on March 26 on behalf of the ACFAZ.

Meeting was held at Helpings Cafe, which is the social enterprise business of UMOM, is a restaurant, catering operations and market offering a full menu, and on the job training for UMOM clients. Six weeks of on the job training in both front and back of the house. We learned more about the program and toured the facility.

Certification date at AI April 21, 2018. To date, one CEPC scheduled. Chef Butch Raphael will be Apprentice Certification Evaluator.
