To celebrate the artisans and chefs in the Copper Communities, the Copper Communities Food Hub Study is hosting a prickly pear cook-off! Contestants will prepare their favorite recipes with a twist: they must incorporate prickly pear pads or tunas. The public is invited to join us for demonstrations from the participating artisans, taste-test the prickly pear goods, and witness the verdicts of the judging panel. The winner will go down in Superior history & take home a special prize!
Who should attend:
Everyone! Locals and tourists will rejoice in the delicious flavors of our desert home, and discover the wonderful bakers that the Copper Corridor has to offer!
Who should compete:
Are you a butcher? How about some Arizona beef in a prickly pear marinade?! Are you a goat-cheese maker? How about a Jam and Cheese pairing?!
Any food producer living in Young, Globe, Miami, Superior, San Manuel, Kearny, Dudleyville, Winkleman, Mammoth, San Carlos, Oracle, Aravaipa, and anywhere in between.
Anyone who lives in the Copper Corridor is invited to compete, and the entire event is open to the public. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up!
